Community Respite
NACL offers respite services to caregivers in the community or through Community Living British Columbia referrals to provide accommodations for clients with health or behaviour needs. Our Community Respite service specializes in supporting individuals with unique and challenging behaviours.
NACL provides a safe environment and a high standard of care through trained staff. Respite care enables caregivers to have clients stay in a comfortable, appropriate setting.
What Our Community Respite Service Provides
NACL respite care services provide basic health care/behaviour management, meals, and administration of medications/treatments as per doctors' orders.
This service is intended to be flexible in order to meet a wide range of service provision needs.
To provide adequate support, an intake form detailing client information must be completed before a client is placed in NACL's care.
Staff Qualifications
All NACL staff providing this service are trained and certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention by the Crisis Prevention Institute. In addition, NACL staff have a Community Support Worker certificate or equivalent experience.
Nutrition
Clients receive three nourishing home-cooked meals plus snacks each day as per Canada's Food Guide.
