NACL Receives Another 3-Year Accreditation!

NACL was elated to receive the news on July 25, 2008 that we were awarded another 3-year accreditation by CARF, including an "exemplary conformance" rating for our Organizational Development Plan. Many thanks to the people we serve, our staff, families/caregivers, and other various stakeholders for all their support and hard work. Public announcements to follow!
NACL Adds New Respite Resource...

NACL is pleased to announce that we now have the use of a house in Coombs, which will further enhance the Respite services we provide. Services officially commenced at Coombs Home in July 2008.
Good Times and Good Eats at NACL's Annual Picnic!

Thanks to everyone who attended NACL's annual picnic on Friday, June 27, 2008. We had a fabulous turnout to go with the warm, sunny weather, where we welcomed persons served, their families/caregivers, staff, and various guests and associates of our organization. Special thanks to our "BBQ'ers" and event organizers for another perfect picnic this year!
AGM 2008...

CARF Accreditation Dates Announced!

Three years has flown by quickly! NACL will be welcoming back the team from CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rebabilitation Facilities) on June 12 and 13, 2008 for our re-accreditation survey.

NACL Announces its New Vocational Program, "NACLWorks!"

NACL is getting closer to launching its internal vocational program, called "NACLWorks!" We are very excited about this project, and more information will be released on it in the near future.
Barb Barry is heading up this initiative as our Employment Initiatives Coordinator.
NACL Partners with Triumph Vocational Services...
(Fall 2007)
NACL has partnered with Triumph Vocational Services to provide job coaching and on-the-job support to their clients with disabilities. Clients will be coming to us on a referral basis.
AGM 2007 and Revised Board of Directors...

NACL held its 21st Annual General Meeting on June 26, 2007. We had 26 people in attendance that night, including members, persons served, and staff. To see the President's/Executive Director's Report which was presented at the meeting, click here.
Our Board of Directors saw one departure (our former Secretary, Kim Mitchell), one addition (Joyce Pritchard, who will assume the role of Secretary), and our President and Vice President have swapped positions for this year (Paul Best became our new President, and Gwen Boyd our Vice President/Past President). NACL Hosts Open House...

On Tuesday, May 22nd we had a little party to celebrate the completion of our renovated building at 83 Victoria Crescent. A good time was had by all who attended!

NACL's Administration Office Now Upstairs...

Upon completing renovations enabling our Actions Day Program to occupy the entire second floor of our building at 83 Victoria Crescent, our administration office has now officially moved to the third floor.
While our mailing address remains 83 Victoria Crescent, you'll find our administration office via the upper door of 96 Cavan Street (just up the street from the corner of Victoria and Cavan), in Suite 201. Thanks for everyone's co-operation and patience during our transition, and we look forward to serving you from our new office!
NACL Adds New Residence...

On January 9, 2007, NACL's membership approved the purchase of our latest residence, Caspers Way Home. We are pleased to have this resource in order to provide additional residential options for the people we serve.

A great time was had by all in honour of NACL's 20th anniversary, progress towards the completion of our newly renovated building at 83 Victoria Crescent in downtown Nanaimo, and Community Living Month! (Photos to come soon...)
