NACL offers respite services to caregivers in the community or through Community Living British Columbia referrals to provide accommodations for people with health or behaviour needs. Our Community Respite service specializes in supporting individuals with unique and challenging behaviours. NACL provides a safe environment and a high standard of care through trained staff. Respite care enables caregivers to have people stay in a comfortable, appropriate setting. What Our Community Respite Service ProvidesNACL respite care services provide basic health care/behaviour management, meals, and administration of medications/treatments as per doctors' orders. The service is intended to be flexible in order to meet a wide range of service provision needs. To provide adequate support, an intake form detailing the person's information must be completed before they are placed in NACL's care. Staff QualificationsAll NACL staff providng this service are trained and certified in either NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) or SIVA (Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments). In addition, NACL have either a Community Support Worker Certificate or equivalent experience. NutritionClients receive three nourishing home-cooked meals plus snacks each day, as per Canada's Food Guide.
