NACL's 2024 AGM

A big thank you to everyone who attended NACL's 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) via Zoom on Monday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. - it was another good turnout! We discussed the successes and challenges of the past year, reviewed our annual audited financial statements, elected our next year's Board of Directors, shared what we're looking forward to in the coming year, and more!

We'll keep all materials related to this year's AGM posted for most of the next year - you'll find them all here on our Resources page, or by clicking the graphic below to take you right to them.
NACL BBQ Fun!

Thanks so much to everyone who came to and supported NACL's much-loved NACL BBQ on June 14th! We enjoyed great food, entertainment...and best of all? Your company!

CoR Recertified!

We're thrilled to announce that NACL received another 3-year WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition, having received a score of 96% on our external audit held in late February 2024! While our formal review happens every three years, we also make sure to do a thorough review annually for the two years in between, just to make sure we're maintaining those standards! CoR certification is all about NACL's ongoing commitment to health and safety.

If you're interested in reading the latest audit report and/or seeing our certificate, check them out here on our Resources page or click on the graphic below.
We Bought a Farm!

Yes, you heard right - NACL has bought a farm! We've purchased a 52-acre property in South Wellington, which will help us meet our strategic objectives of housing, employment, and educational/community inclusion opportunities for the people we serve, as well as self-sustainability.

We took possession on September 1, 2023, undertook extensive renovations on the main house, and Evanmorr Acres was officially move-in ready in July 2024! We've done extensive work in the fields to plant our first crops and also brought in four natural weed-eaters (goats) as our farm's first official livestock!

Stay tuned for more to come as we continue this exciting journey! Here's a beautiful picture (taken by one of our Integrated Services Managers) from when we first purchased the property...
Uplands Housing Development

We're so excited about (and proud of!) our housing development at 3425 Uplands Drive. Now finished, it has three buildings and a total of 28 townhouse units - 12 of which are housing persons served by NACL, and the remaining 16 occupied by working people with an appreciation for people with diversabilities, at 90% of market rent.

In partnership with Community Living BC (CLBC) and utilizing a thoughtful, person-centered approach, we are ensuring that a resource system with a focus on unpaid community supports is in place.

We are extremely thankful for the support of BC Housing with this project, along with John Jessup and Associates, dys Architecture, and Knappett Projects Inc.
